Participation in International Meeting on Statistical Climatology

The Geolearning chair will be represented by several researchers and doctoral students at the conference 15th International Meeting on Statistical Climatology, 15th IMSC, which will be held in Toulouse from June 24 to 28, 2024. F. Guéguéniat and G. Jacquemin were recruited by the Geolearning chair.

  • F. Guéguéniat, L. Benoit, N. Desassis, T. Romary: Stochastic emulation of weather radar images time series using generative AI
  • G. Jacquemin, M. Vrac, D. Allard, X. Freulon: Compound climate events: can climate simulations be improved by bias correction?

The following work, which involves researchers from the chair, also concerns the challenges of scientists from the chair:

  • L. Benoit, M. Lucas, T. Giambelluca: A nonstationary geostatistical model for the stochastic interpolation of daily rain gauge observations in mountain areas
  • L. Clarotto, M. Pereira, N. Desassis: Modeling CO2 concentration in the atmosphere using spatio-temporal random fields on meshed surfaces defined from advection-diffusion SPDE
  • S. Obakrim, D. Allard, L. Benoit: Multivariate spatio-temporal stochastic weather generator
  • L. Schmutz, S. Thao, M. Vrac, D. Allard, G. Mariethoz: Beyond Multi Model Means: Leveraging Local Model Strengths for Superior Climate Projections
  • M. Vrac, D. Allard, G. Mariethoz, S. Thao, L. Schmutz: Distribution-based pooling for combination and multi-model bias correction of climate simulations

Otherwise, Denis Allard will co-host with Bo Li, University of Illinois (USA) Sessions on Statistical Methods for Spatio-Temporal Data. Conference Program and Conference Presentations are accessible on this page.
